As Tai Chi/Circle Dancing is proving so popular the session is totally full and the waiting list has had to be closed. However, we will post on this website and the FB page if the situation changes.

The following poem, written by one of our members,is a good example of what we do on Monday mornings.

ON MONDAY
1 Here we all are.
Doing Tai Chi
" Touching the Sky "
And "scooping the sea"

2 We all understand
That is all good exercise
For shoulders,neck, and knees
And even our eyes!

3 It is good for our bodies
It's great for the soul
There's a sense of well-being
That permeates all

4 We stretch and we balance
We should move as one.
But when it goes "Pear Shaped"
We laugh and have fun.
5 And all through the world.
Without any fuss
Tai Chi is occurring
And on Mondays it is us.

THE CIRCLE DANCING GROUP
Circle Dancing is an ancient tradition common to many cultures and were inspired by other countries when arranging our Monday programmes. We have gathered our dances from various sources, As well as, after attending regularly at the Day of Dance at Saltaire, we have managed to arrange visiting instructors who have been really beneficial to us.

Because one of our dancers is a dab hand at choreography we have dances which is unique to our circle. Up to 16 dancers regularly meet on Monday mornings, but we are always on the look out for new members and new ideas, the bigger the circle the better. The beauty of this type of dancing, of course, is that you don't need a partner, just come along and join us.
Anyone or any age or sex, or abilty can circle dance and each dance is taught repeatedly!!

The main thing is that it is fun, it's good exercise and we have a good laugh. We get the steps wrong all the time so no one should feel intimidated if they have never done this type of dancing before.

Come along and see if you like it I am sure you will love it as much as we do.
