Art History

Once in a blue moon, I manage to persuade someone else to lead, but mostly the art presentations come from me. They are very visual - I believe in giving people more to look at than to listen to. I cover a wide range of topics, with an on-going series, interspersed with one-offs - currently the long series in on the Italian Renaissance, but it could be French Impressionists, Dutch Golden Age or Peredvizhniki. Our planned single-session topics for the rest of the year are Dutch 19th, Orientalism/Arabesques, the Norwich School, Orpen & John and Victorian Narrative Painting.
