Step It Up

The original Step it Up was an initiative to encourage mental, social and physical health through reasonably accessible walks. Our current and immediately future parameters are:
All members of U3A and other potential members are welcome.
Walks are usually between two and three miles, sometimes less, rarely more!
Walks are usually between one and two hours.
The accessibility and pace are crucial. In terms of the U3A Interest Groups, Step it Up walks lie neatly between the Trundlers group and the other more general walking groups. As such all Step it Up walks are as accessible as possible and we never rush. Blethering, sauntering and meandering are integral to every time we go out, no matter what the walk is. Every walk attempts to be as inclusive of all members as possible.
As of now I, Charlie Harris, am the main leader and reconnoitre and risk assess every walk. We currently have a register of thirty or so walks, all in the north of our Isle. I am very interested in others volunteering for co, or assistant, leadership and am more than happy to train others up, if people don't feel confident for whatever reason etc. I have relevant qualifications to teach, instruct etc.I will send my CV out to all future members of Step it Up who haven't already received it.
We aim to have a walk on every Friday except the last on the last Friday of the month when it will be on the Thursday.
