Welcome to The Isle Of Arran U3A
The Isle of Arran u3a was launched in January 2020 and now has over 150 members. Membership is open to anyone who is no longer working full time and would like to participate in social, creative, active and learning interest groups - run by our members for our members.
The Isle of Arran u3a is affiliated with the Third Age Trust which oversees the national u3a learning co-operative, founded in the UK in 1982 and made up of independent u3as, all run on a voluntary basis by their members.
No qualifications are needed to join. The aim is to encourage members to co-operate and collaborate in their third age to continue to learn and develop skills, and to have fun. It is all about taking part, which is reflected in the u3a motto 'learn, laugh, live'.
Our u3a holds Monthly Social Meetings to which all members and prospective members are invited. They are held on the last Thursday of each month, excepting July and August. Meetings include short talks by invited speakers and the opportunity to socialise over refreshments and sign up to Interest Groups.
We offer an ever-growing range of Interest Groups. See the Groups page for more information on how to join.
Members are kept up to date through the monthly Bulletin.
The membership of The Isle of Arran u3a runs from February 1st to 31st January
