NEXT WALK: Culloden and Feabuie on Wednesday 9th December

Our walk starts at 10am from the entrance to NTS Culloden Battlefield, just off the B9006. Parking is available on either side of the entrance road into the battlefield visitor centre. Further parking is available in the main National Trust for Scotland (NTS) car park however, since all non-NTS members will need to pay a parking fee, could all those who are Members of the NTS please park in the NTS section to ease parking for others. On the last walk we had over 20 cars.

We will walk down through the woods, along a short section of Feabuie then circle through Culloden Forest and back onto the Battlefield circular walk.

The walk distance is 8.2 miles, with a total ascent of 295ft. Most walking will be on good forest tracks however some sections will be muddy so good boots and poles are recommended. We will walk for a short distance on the quiet single track Feabuie road and will cross the Balloch-Culloden Moor road and the busy B9006 twice at well-sighted points.

Please remember to bring a snack and packed lunch and be mindful of all of the Covid requirements; you are advised to take a mask and hand sanitiser with you and must maintain social distancing at all times.

Future walks are planned as follows, but note further dates are yet to be allocated in January and February as this will be dependant on the weather conditions at that time:

6th January 2021 Redcastle and Gallows Hill
