Recorder

Our quartet of three recorders and a cello met quite regularly prior to the Covid lock-down, sometimes just once a month but more often on a fortnightly basis in each others’ homes. Much of the music we played and practised was from the classical or baroque period but we also have a range of folk tunes.

We had been asked to play at the AGM in May and had been working on a programme for that but of course Covid 19 put paid to that. Playing together is not really something you can do on Zoom, so there has been no activity since March. I’m sure though we’re all practising and playing at home during lockdown. It does look however as if it will be a while before we can get together again.

When eventually we do meet we would welcome anyone who has a background in recorder playing even if it was many years ago. I would be happy over the Covid period to send examples of the kind of music we play either by post or online.
