Book Group 2
The best part of being in a book group is reading material we would never have considered for ourselves. We continue to read widely, discuss vigorously, learn something new from every book and enjoy each other’s company.
We have continued on throughout the usual summer break and we plan to carry on meeting on Zoom until we are able to resume face to face contact. We meet on the first Tuesday in each month at 2pm.
Our book choices for November and December this year are The Ninth Child by Sally Magnusson and A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles.
Over the past year or so we have read: ‘Through a Glass Darkly’ by Donna Leon,‘Larchfield’ by Polly Clark, ‘The Sealwoman’s Gift’ by Sally Magnusson,‘Sixteen Trees of the Somme’ by Lars Mytting,‘The Salt Path’ by Raynor Wyn, ‘Dyslexia;Escaping the Forest’ by Rhona MacDonald, ‘Local Souls’ by Alan Gurganus,‘The Sewing Machine’ by Natalie Fergie, ‘The Ascent of Rum Doodle’ by W.E. Bowman, ‘The Dark Ship’ by Anne MacLeod and ‘Small Island’ by Andrea Levy.
