Hythe & Dibden

Welcome

What is u3a?

The University of the Third Age (u3a) was founded in Paris in 1979 and now is an international organisation. The UK's u3a was founded in 1982 and has over 1,000 groups around the country.

u3a is a self help organisation of people no longer in full-time employment, and it provides leisure, creative and educational opportunities in a friendly environment. u3a is not related to a specific age but to a stage in one's life.

Our monthly meetings are open to members and visitors. They are held on the second Monday of each month at 2.00pm at Hythe Parish Hall, West Street, Hythe, with the doors opening at 1.45 to allow time for everyone to arrive and settle in.

If you are interested in joining the Hythe & Dibden Group, you can come along to our monthly meeting as a guest and talk to a committee member who will help you. Alternatively, please contact the Membership Secretary. The cost of membership is £20 for the year beginning 1st June, reduced to £17 for any other person residing at the same address.

As a member of Hythe & Dibden u3a, you are welcome to join as many of our GROUPS as you wish. If you have an idea for something different and would like to investigate setting up a new interest group, or would like to join an existing group, please contact the Interest Groups Coordinator.
