We have regular meetings on the first Wednesday of each month from 1.45-3.45 at the Community Centre.
At our last meeting everybody had to read out items from a shopping list they had compiled in Spanish and while there were some duplications we ended up with an interesting array of goods. Alcohol and fish seemed to dominate - so we truly captured the "flavours" of Spain. We used our lists to play an adapted version of "I went to the market and I bought ...". As the object of the game was pronunciation and vocabulary rather than remembering, cheating was allowed! I think everybody enjoyed themselves?
Next month we plan to make yet another visit to Marco's Tapas bar in Rayleigh. Maybe not an authentic tapas bar but a very enjoyable experience nonetheless. And if the sun shines and the sangria flows, then who cares.
