Howden & District

Recorder Ensemble Group

This group meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays, from 10.00am to 12 noon in Howden. The group currently has 8 members and we play in four parts: descant, treble, tenor and bass. There is a wide range of music available for this combination and we enjoy music actually written for recorders by Elizabethan composers, which is love songs or sacred music, as well as modern folk song arrangements and jazz and swing.

There is usually an opportunity for private practice of new music so you are not faced with constant sight-reading and we play just for enjoyment and aim to find pieces that everyone can play. More players, of any of the recorders, would be very welcome. Please contact Marian by clicking on the bird icon on the right.

If you wish to learn the recorder please go to the Recorder Group (Thursday) page.
