This group meets on the second Friday of the month from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon at a member's home.
Beware those thinking of taking up Mah-jong, it can become addictive. I had heard about the game from other U3A members about 5 years ago. I put my name down on the waiting list and was eventually invited for a one to one tuition session. I left that session with a head full of Mah-jong terms: winds, dragons, flowers, bamboo, circles, characters and bizarrely goulash! But I came away from that meeting hooked and couldn’t wait to play a real game. I have since graduated from playing simple hands to special hands and play regularly with the group. I have even downloaded the game onto my iPad and play whenever I can. However, the iPad is no substitute for playing this game of skill and luck with other U3A members.
