Walking
Our Walkers Group Co-ordinator is Maria with walks organised by various members of the group on a fortnightly basis.
These walks take place on alternate Fridays starting at 11am
Usually 3 to 4 miles with an option sometimes for those who want a longer walk.
Dogs are not allowed on these walks.

Walks may need to be cancelled at short notice due to inclement weather so please check the website for updates

Fri Jul 5th | Richmond and Easby Abbey with Joan. Take the A1 to Scotch Corner leaving the A1 at A66/A6108 exit Then take 3rd exit onto A6108 to Richmond. Approaching Richmond turn left onto B6271 marked Easby Abbey. This road is Maison Dieu with free parking on the right. Park as close to the junction as you can. We meet here at 11am We walk into Richmond for a riverside walk and those who wish can choose to walk around the Castle first then down to the riverside via steep steps but there is a handrail. We walk by the river to the station where there are toilets and refreshments. We continue to Easby Abbey a ruined Abbey on the banks of the River Swale and an old church which may be open to look around A gradual incline brings us back to the main road and our cars The walk is 4 miles and there are plenty of places to eat in Richmond |
