Within the group, members are expected to take responsibility for organising a visit once a year, or every other year, depending on the make-up of the membership.

Guided tour of the smokery and its history, plus meal to finish. | |
April | Bluebell Railway |
Fascinating, great experience for the first and many subsequent times. Plus memorable train journey to East Grinstead & return. | |
May | Newhaven Fort |
Detailed insight into military thinking of the day, Extensive grounds with great views. Well-presented and good facilities too. | |
June | Brockham Village History |
Guided tour of the village green, the church and surrounding buildings, so much interesting history. | |
July | Horsham (East) |
Guided tour of the Denne Road area with detailed insights into life back in the day. | |
August | Charterhouse School |
Guided tour of Charterhouse School, amazing place. | |
September | Chichester – Cloisters and North Chichester |
Walking tour of the historic town of Chichester, including the cathedral area and the many historic areas. | |
October | Goring ‘Sistine’ Chapel |
What an amazing place, totally unexpected and stunning. The guide was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. | |
November | Brighton Pavilion |
Self-guided visit to the Pavilion, always plenty to see. The room guides are amazing, as are the different rooms and its chequered history. | |
December | Warnham Barn (Rookwood Golf Club) |
Our usual haunt for the AGM and Christmas lunch. We are always made very welcome, and the meal is excellent too. |
