Wool & Threads
The group continues to flourish and we are increasing the numbers a little for next year.
Thank you so much to those who have contacted me and given me embroidery bits and pieces and/or wool. I have managed to find homes for these items, such a shame for things not be used.
So, if there is anyone out there with a cache of wool, etc I can find a good home for it.
For example, a friend knits for the SANDS charity. We need wool and knitters to knit Donkeys for the ABC animal charity which is supported by Eunice (a U3A member). Eunice would be happy to sew up any knitted donkeys.
Even if you didn’t want to belong to the Group but wanted to knit donkeys for the Charity, I can provide patterns and could collect completed items from you.
A second group was started but the lady then moved away. So I am wondering if a second group could be started up, in a hall instead of someone’s home.
This obviously would involve a little more cost and a sub-committee to make sure the hall was open on time, tables and chairs set out and put away. Tea and coffee and biscuits provided and any washing up done.
I hope to hold a meeting in the New Year with members from the waiting list to see if they thought this would be a viable proposition.
