Herbs and Gardens
Reporting on another successful year visiting some interesting and varying locations with an increasing membership some of whom are keen and knowledgeable gardeners.
Back in May we visited Knepp Castle where we enjoyed a tour and talk followed by refreshments in the logia. In June we visited the home and garden of the late Leslie Howard of “Gone with the Wind” fame, with a peep into his cinema containing projectors, etc which had belonged to the famous actor. We then proceeded down the road to a hostelry for what is now referred to as the DISASTER LUNCH……..
More recently the group enjoyed a demonstration and talk at Doves Barn Nursery. I’m told members returned home and put the talk into practice with satisfying results.
Looking forward, we will be visiting an outstanding garden in Washington which has been voted worth a re-visit this year……..or was it the cakes in a charming summerhouse?
On 27th March a member of our group opened her home and garden for us, where we sat in the Spring sunshine enjoying the view of her garden with some lovely cakes and chat.
