TV Documentary About Senior Citizens
The following letter was recently sent to Horndean U3A by a Television Production company who you can contact if it is of interest using the Blue Bird link or the telephone number at the foot of the page.
Dear Sir / Madam,
I hope this finds you well. I am contacting you from a television production company called Liberty Bell Productions. We make factual programmes for the major UK broadcasters. I am currently working on a brand new documentary about some amazing senior citizens who defy their age, and perhaps encourage others that their lifestyle can truly be revolutionised when entering the next stage of life post retirement. We are making a heart-warming and uplifting programme about what it is like to grow old in this modern world and we want to feature unusual senior citizens who are following a less conventional path during their life post retirement. This email is a casting call to find some of these people.
We want to prove that just because of your age you do not have to be confined to sitting in front of the TV and there are still some really interesting outlets for the elderly to express themselves. The University of the Third Age (U3A) is a fantastic organisation that provides information and exciting activities to the elderly in a truly inspirational manner, and we want to reach out to you and your members to give them the opportunity to tell others about their inspirational lives. I would greatly appreciate if you could you point me in the direction of any members or groups that might be interested in our series, or perhaps you know of someone personally who may spring to mind. We are looking for big characters and someone who would provide us with an entertaining and eye-opening insight into their lives.
We are still in the early phases of the production and I am researching potential contributors for the documentary.
