How do I join
How to become a member of Horncastle U3A
The quickest and simplest method to become a member of the Horncastle U3A is to join at one of our monthly meetings. We ask you to fill your details on the printable PDF form, see Application form at side of page. You pay your subscription and are then issued a membership card which will entitle you to join any of our many groups. To do this you will need to contact the relevant group leader (contact details on the individual group web page). Before joining the U3A you are able to come to the main meeting on two occasions, but not the AGM.
Another way of joining is to contact Robin Wilmshurst directly, see contact page. You will be sent by post an application form which we ask you to fill in then return with your subscription.
The subscription rate for the entire year from the AGM in April to the end of March the following year, is currently £15.
For your subscription you will be entitled to attend the monthly meeting, vote in the AGM, join any groups or clubs of not only Horncastle U3A, but also neighbouring U3A groups where there are vacancies and their rules permit. You will receive a copy of the Horncastle U3A magazine at a monthly meeting, which is published four times a year. You will also receive by post a copy of the national U3A magazine, Third Age Matters, also four times a year.
Our general monthly meeting, on the first Tuesday of each month, is held at the Stanhope Hall, Boston Road, Horncastle, LN9 6EY, at 10 am. Attendance is free, tea, coffee and biscuits are provided.
At the door you will be welcomed by our greeter, Shelagh, who will advise and guide you. We ask you to sign in to every meeting to comply with fire regulations.
Becoming a member of Horncastle U3A is a fabulous way of meeting new people and of broadening your knowledge with interesting and sociable company.
