Books and Literature
The Book Group usually meet on the 4th Monday afternoon each month at each other's houses (with tea and cakes!), however many of us have met by Zoom every month since lockdown started - no tea and cakes but plenty of laughs. We are currently working through a list for 2021 that all the group compiled and which includes a different genre for each month.
This year (2020) our list includes: Jan - The Hundred Year Old Man who jumped out of the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson (genre Comedy): Feb - Black Dogs by Ian McEwan (genre - mystery): Mar - The Spire by Wm Golding (genre English Classic): Apr - The Storyteller by Jodi Picault (genre WWII): May - Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrel (genre Historical): June - The Foundling by Tracy Halls (genre Historical Fiction): July - The Rowan by Ann McCaffrey (genre Sci Fi Fantasy): Aug - Burning Bright by Tracy Chevalier (genre Poetry): Sept - Featherhood by Charlie Gilmour (genre Nature): Oct - A Long Petal of the Sea by Isabel Allende (genre Family): Nov - Why be Happy when you could be Normal (genre Survival).
