The Walking Group has made changes to its programme from May 2017:-
The regular walking programme will now take place every Wednesday leaving the starting point at 9.30am promptly.
The walking route may include steep ascents and descents, will be up to 6 miles and take about 3 hours. Planning often includes a post-walk lunch at a suitable pub.Occasionally this medium walk will be replaced with a longer walk of up to 10 miles and lasting up to 5 hours.
Short walks are planned for the first Wednesday of each month. These are in addition to the main programme and are designed to encourage those who haven't walked for a while or those who want to start walking, to try out easy level walks mostly on good paths. They will last up to two hours with a coffee break.
The route description includes :-
The Date, Time and Starting point; The Walk Leader; A Description, including the approximate length, amount of ascent and expected duration.
Details are emailed to members roughly one week prior to walk.
