Digital Photography

We are now back to live meetings, 10.00 on the second Wednesday of each month, in the upstairs room of the Methodist Church. We have a monthly asignment to take photos on a loose theme, then view and discuss them at our meeting.

Our aim is to enable members to:

• Meet and enjoy their photography.
• Improve their photography and increase confidence in taking photographs.

Meetings – Where, When and How Much Does It Cost?

• Meetings are once a month, all year round.
• Second Wednesday of Each Month, 10.00 to 12.00, Upstairs Room, Methodist Church.
• Meetings will last 2 hours, including a tea/coffee break.
• We will have occasional, additional local outings.
• There will be a charge of £3.00 for each meeting, which will include tea/coffee.

What Will the Group Do

• Each month we set a theme and members are encouraged to send me up to five photos on that theme by email. Entries are closed a few days after the end of the month. As a group member you will be able to view our photos on-line, on a web album confidential to the group.
• We view the photos at our meeting, discuss them and offer gentle constructive critique. We also try to allow time for you to ask specific questions about your camera, computers, or photography in general.
• From time to time we may arrange local outings or visiting speakers.

What Do You Need?

• You need – Something that takes photos – a camera or smart-phone. You don’t need a big, black, expensive camera!
• You don’t need a computer to join the group - it is possible to produce good photos straight out of the camera or smart-phone. But! the photos will often benefit from further work - we discuss the regularly at our meetings. You also need to be able to email the photos to me.
