U3A - Learn Laugh Live
U3A is a secular, non-political, international organisation based upon mutual self-help groups, to expand members' own knowledge, skills and interests and those of others, in a friendly, non-academic environment.
U3A is not related to a specific age but to the period in one’s life - the third age - after the second age of full time employment and parental responsibilities. Anyone in their third age can join U3A and this includes people who are working part time.
Hitchin U3A is a comparatively small, friendly group of around 240 members, but new members are always welcome. It has a large catchment area from surrounding villages and nearby towns, including Letchworth, Baldock and Shefford in South Bedfordshire.
Regular Meetings : We all meet twice monthly when there is usually a guest speaker, with interesting talks on a wide variety of subjects. See our Events page for further details of upcoming talks or to print your own pocket-sized programme.
Groups : The core of every U3A is its groups which provide many opportunities to participate in different ways. there are small interest groups, larger open groups and support teams. Visit the Groups page for more details.
