Hinckley U3A (University of the 3rd Age) members come from all walks of life; they have a diverse and varied range of interests, experiences, knowledge and skills.
So what does 3rd age mean? –well it follows the 2nd age of full time employment and parental responsibilities. Therefore, anybody in their 3rd age can join a U3A including people who are working part time, it is for those who are retired or semi-retired.

Our aim is to share knowledge & skills in a friendly and enjoyable way, so there are many interest groups which are run by members. So by joining us you can try new things, gain new skills and knowledge in a relaxed way. Have a look at the page which lists all the groups available with details of dates, times & where they are held. University is in our title but don't worry our activities are not 'highbrow' but accessible for all -
It is all about remaining fit and agile in mind and body - To Learn, Laugh & Live.

As the activities of all U3As are organised by members based on their skills and talents then each U3A is different. If you are thinking of joining us then come along to one of our general meetings held at The Mary Forryan Centre, Leicester Road, Hinckley, LE10 1LW on the 3rd Tuesday monthly at 2pm. There is a speaker and information on upcoming activities plus events and you can have a chat with our membership secretary.
More information about the U3A nationally is available on their website & also you can find out what other groups are in the area. So you can choose a group which is best for you. The details are on our links page.

As a non-member you can ONLY attend two meetings as tasters before you decide whether to join us or not. After attending two meetings as a visitor you MUST join Hinckley U3A if you wish to continue attending meetings.

If you do join Membership costs £15 per year and there is a charge of £1 at each monthly meeting and group meeting to cover room hire. If you wish to join or want more information about becoming a member then use the form on our contact page & select membership secretary.
