BBC Learning Zone: these on-line tutorials are designed for secondary school students but the explanations are so clear it is good resource for finding out more about a subject. e.g. earthquakes in Britain.

OpenLearn: free learning resources from the Open University

Royal Society Trailblazing: A user friendly exploration/ virtual Journey through science. It showcases 60 fascinating articles selected form The Royal Societies archives from 1665 to 2010.

TED Lectures: based in California hundreds of lectures presented as video grouped by subject, e.g. My Stroke of Insight - a Neurologists observes her own stroke.

YouTube EDU: this site has videos uploaded by Universities all over the world.
