Computing for Beginners
If a computer isn't making life easier you are do-ing it wrong. Most of us can use a computer to some degree. In fact using it can tell us we don't know how to use it very well. What it doesn't tell us is whether we are making the best use of it. You can learn the basics all by yourself but it is harder and takes some time. Classes just speed up the process considerably and then take you further to take advantages of the capabilities that you are un-likely to discover yourself.
Almost everyone coming to classes tells me they don't want to be worst in class but ask anyone that comes - we don't work like that. We show you something and then you do it. The main problem is that each computer has its own individual setup and software so there are variations in how you do what is being demonstrated. We get round this with additional tutors who step in and help guide you through the process on your com-puter if in fact it is differ-ent.
After each class I send you a handout because it is impossible to remember all that we did. You can still just turn up at 2pm on 3rd Wed of the month at Lacey Green Village Hall (300 bus stops outside). Make it a New Year resolution. Thus far there have been sufficient num-bers to restart again last September so you can come back to catch up on what you missed so far. Not-withstanding I will send you the missing handouts.
