Heybridge

Walking

We meet at 2pm on the 2nd Thursday of the month and aim to walk 3 to 4 miles, finishing wherever possible at a Tea Room to recharge our batteries.

Many walks are around the local area, including Heybridge Basin, Chigborough Lakes, Beeleigh Weir, Goldhanger sea wall and Wickham Bishops. Others are slightly further afield, such as Danbury Common, Little Baddow, Coggeshall with Essex Way, Hillside Wood, Roman River Valley Nature Reserve and Marks Hall.

Administration of the group is carried out by the Group Convenor, but walks are planned and led on a rota basis by group members working in pairs, with one leading the walk and the other acting as backmarker. U3A guidance sheets listing the duties of these roles are available. In the event that no-one volunteers to lead the walk, there will be no walk that month.
