Petanque

We meet at the pétanque area in the Promenade Park, Maldon every Monday afternoon (except Bank Holidays), from the middle of March to the end of October. Play starts promptly at 2 p.m. For those who wish to continue playing in the winter months, play is from 1 - 3 p.m, weather permitting.

Games are played in the spirit of friendly competition and at the end of play, we retire to one of the nearby cafés for tea/coffee or, if it’s really hot, an ice cream. We usually end our playing season with an end of season meal.

New members are welcome. The rules of the game are easy and can be learnt in a few weeks with the help of other members.

If you would like to give it a try, we can lend you some boules for the first few weeks, although after that you will need to buy your own set.
