Our Monthly Social Meetings

Our monthly Social Meetings are held at the Methodist Chapel in Coinagehall Street, Helston, on the third Wednesday of the month from 9.45 am. Coffee/Tea is available and there is an interesting programme of speakers on many diverse subjects.

An example of a popular guest speaker is Susan Symonds, who provided the third talk in her Victoria series: "The Widowed Queen" at last September's monthly Social Meeting. One of our members said:

"Susan gave us a most interesting account of Victoria’s intense grief over the loss of her beloved Albert, how the prolonged mourning affected her children, her self-imposed exile from her people, and her relationships with John Brown and, later, her Indian servant "The Mufti." The whole talk was illustrated with interesting portraits from Susan’s personal collection."

We would love to see many more of our members attending our Social Meetings, so please come along if you can!
