Studying Japan
We will be studying all aspects of Japan from daily life through history to art and language. This is a new group and topics will be flexible.
We continue to meet monthly in each other’s homes.
Death and burial in Japan and the Noh Theatre are topics we studied at the end of last year. At our first meeting this year we covered how the Japanese celebrate New Year (much more important than Christmas), the Snow Festival in Sapporo which was taking place the week of our meeting and finally - Japanese toilets.!
We are following the progress of the grandson of one of our members, now he is settling in with his teaching position in Japan
