Keep Fit
This group is founded on the thesis in Muir Gray’s book, Sod Seventy – The Guide to Living Well, that fitness becomes more and more important as we age. If you improve your fitness from your sixties onwards you will be laying a foundation for improved fitness and health into your eighties and nineties. The group aims to offer a fitness programme to improve your Flexibility, Strength and Balance with a programme from the NHS led by Sheila McKilligan. However, Sheila cannot attend all sessions, and others in the group will act as leader on those days – we will collaborate in good U3A fashion. None of the leaders is a qualified exercise professional, so those joining the group must take responsibility for their own bodies. After our exercise, which can be as gentle or demanding as you wish, we enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a chat.
Please contact Sheila McKilligan if you wish to attend the group sessions.
