If you were born or raised in Wales, have Welsh relatives or have enjoyed holidays in Wales and want to know more about the country and the people beyond Offa’s Dyke, you are welcome to join this Interest Group.
We usually meet in members' homes, at 10.30 am on the 4th Friday of each month. Please contact Pat Hindley for details.
The scope will be what group members want. We all contribute our knowledge and experience of Wales and decide how we journey into this fascinating and very distinctive part of the UK. We each pick a topic of interest and prepare to bring what we have found out to the next meeting and inform the group in 10 or 15 minutes.
Since we began in September 2018, we have learned a great deal about Wales from the invasions by the Celts, Romans, Vikings; through the early Medieval Kingdoms and the Marcher Lordships, looking at Social history and changes with the Industrial Revolution to the amazing regeneration of today.
There is so much more to find out.
