Wales and the Welsh

Cymru a’r Cymry

If you were born or raised in Wales, have Welsh relatives or have enjoyed holidays in Wales and want to know more about the country and the people beyond Offa’s Dyke, you are welcome to join this new Interest Group.

We meet in members' homes, at 10.00 am on the 4th Friday of each month.

The scope will be what group members want and it is hoped that we will all contribute our knowledge and experience of Wales and help decide how we plan our journey into this fascinating and very distinctive part of the UK.

Since we began in September 2018, we have learned a great deal about Wales by discussing invasions by the Celts, Romans, Vikings; the early Medieval Kingdoms, the dominance of the Normans and the establishment of the Marcher Lordships.
The is so much more to find out.
