Current lockdown restrictions mean that our normal meetings ( 2pm-4pm second Friday of the month) cannot restart. We will have to wait until the Government and Third Age Trust rules allow us to meet.
I am planning Zoom meetings at 2 pm, usually on the second Friday of the month until our normal meetings can restart. The next one will be Friday 12th February and I will send you the invitation in an email the day before.
In the meantime I will update this page weekly with Scrabble news and a Scrabble competition. No prizes (except glory), but publishing the winning entry and runner up.
Note that our Scrabble Competition is very similar to Duplicate Scrabble as described in Wikipedia and used in competitions throughout the world.
15th January Competition
Winner Marilyn Browne added ENWOMBED using the E of SHOWED. The highest score so far - ENWOMBED using a double word square is 30 + 50 for using all the letters adds up to 80 points!. Runner up Pauline Freeman added MOB before the B of BOOTING and ED afterwards for 34 points.
22nd January Competition
Moving on with the letters A E H L N P R unhelpfully in alphabetical order, what would your word be for the maximum score? Email me your answer, the competition closes at midnight on 28th January.
Some of us are playing online (phone, tablet or laptop) with WORDS WITH FRIENDS and WORDS WITH FRIENDS2. If anyone else wants to play, let me know and I will put you in touch.
