Scrabble

Living with the threat of Coronavirus!

At the moment we can't physically meet for our usual indoor game of Scrabble on the second Friday afternoon of the month but have had Zoom meetings on our Scrabble Day and we enjoyed catching up with each other. At 2pm on October 9th we hope to have an outdoor Scrabble meeting See Risk Assessment on Links page for outdoor meeting. (if the weather is bad I will arrange a Zoom meeting, and email the link on Friday 9th in the morning.)

I will update this page weekly with Scrabble news and a Scrabble competition. No prizes (except glory), but I hope to publish the winning entry and runner up on this page.

18th September COMPETITION

The winner was Marilyn Browne who added an FLAT vertically two spaces to the left of OPEN, also making AWE and TON for 20 points. Runner up Pauline Freeman made FINS into TIFFINS for 14 points.

25th September COMPETITION

Moving on from today's solution, the letters are V A D E N I R Not many letters left now. What would your next word be?

Email me your answers. The competition closes midnight on Thursday 24th September and the winner will be announced the following day.

ONLINE SCRABBLE

Some of us are playing online (phone, tablet or laptop) with WORDS WITH FRIENDS and WORDS WITH FRIENDS2. If anyone else wants to play, let me know and I will put you in touch.
