Living with the threat of Coronavirus!
At the moment we can't physically meet for our usual game of Scrabble on the second Friday afternoon of the month but now we have Zoom meetings on our Scrabble Day and we enjoyed catching up with each other on the 8th May. Our next Zoom meeting will be on June 12th and I will send you an email with the link. Please contact me if you need more information or help getting in to Zoom, or if you would like to join us but aren't a member of the group at the moment. We won't be able to play much Scrabble but will have an opportunity to see one another and catch up on each others news.
I will update this page weekly with Scrabble news and a Scrabble competition. No prizes (except glory), but I hope to publish the winning entry and runner up on this page.
22nd May COMPETITION
Marilyn Browne was the winner this week with 23 points. She added I G under the Z to make Z I G, the I next to the X making XI. Pauline Freeman was the runner up making the R at the end of DOZIER into RIGOR. Both solutions were better than mine which would have been GOITRE.
29nd May COMPETITION
Moving on from today's solution, the letters are R O O E U G T. What would your next word be?
Email me your answers. The competition closes midnight on Thursday 4th June and the winner will be announced the following day.
Marilyn and two other people have been playing on line using WORDS WITH FRIENDS If anyone else wants to play, let me know and I will put you in touch. My apologies as I still haven't had a go myself yet.
