Havant

Line Dancing

Line dancing has been running within the Havant U3A since January 2013. The group meets in Bedhampton Community Centre on a Friday morning at 11am for most of the year.

We have a professional dance teacher, Richard who runs a local dance academy, Dance Revival, where all types of dance, from ballroom to zumba are taught.

The group is constantly learning new dances, as well as practising the more familiar ones, so it is suitable for both experienced line dancers, but also those new to this form of exercise. Richard is a very experienced dance teacher, who takes the group slowly through each section of a dance in the warm up section, before the accompanying music is added. Many of the dancers enjoy the mental stimulation of dancing in a set routine as well as the physical benefits of the exercise sessions.

It is a very friendly and lively group where dancers attend on a weekly basis and pay around £3 a session. This amount can be reduced towards the end of each term as we do not make a profit on the classes, and the funds raised pay for the teacher's time and the hire of the hall. We are self financing and have 'balanced our books' over the 3 years the classes have been running.
