Classic Novels
CLASSIC NOVELS
This is a group for members who would like to read or revisit a classic novel every month and then discuss it; how you liked it, felt about it, possible writer's intentions, style, techniques, structure, symbolism, etc. Whether you are new to the classics or are coming back to them after a long break, there is something to learn from every reading experience and from other people.
Each book will speak differently to each reader so there is no right or wrong way on how you feel about it and all opinions are valid. There will sometimes be the option to watch a film based on the book and make comparisons.
These books are probably stocked by the library or, if out of copyright, free online at Free Books or the Gutenberg Project. They can then be read online or they are transferable to the Kindle app on an iPad, for example.
BEXHILL Classic Novels group will meet on the first Friday afternoon of the month 2-4p.m. At Dorset Road, Bexhill.
Meeting Dates and novels for discussion: See Link.
Please make sure you have read/reread the novels by the meeting dates.
Any notes of your likes/dislikes/observations will be really welcome for us all. If you cannot come to a meeting you are welcome to send us your comments by email so they can be included in the discussion.
