Hastings & Rother

Some reflections about the Philosophy Forum in London [from 29 June 2010 to 15 May 2012] and in Hastings [from 13 February 2013 to 31 July 2013]:

Anna on 11/11/2013: "Thank you very much for opening my mind to so many possibilities that I had previously not questioned."

Geof on 16/10/2013: “Hi Pekin, I have moved away from Hastings. I thank you for your excellent philosophy meetings I learnt a great deal from you and intend to carry with philosophy in Norwich.“

Isabel on 16/05/2012: “If you start up [the Forums] again please let me know - I got a great deal from them. Very many thanks to you for all your work and time. It was a joy to discover that such a thing existed and I'm so glad to have been even a small part if it.”

Eva on 30/03/2012: “keep going! It was something that will stay with me, unique experience “

Pekin on 10/01/2012: “Beatrix [ introduced "Existentialism and Humanism" by Jean Paul Sartre ] have delighted us by her well researched presentation.”

Mizgin on 16/12/2011: “Hi Pekin, thank you so much for everything you've done - I have had a very nice and educative time at the forums and indeed I have learned a lot from you and you've enhanced my interest in Philosophy. The philosophy forums' memories will stick with me for a lifetime.”

David on 29/10/2011: “Thanks so much for putting on the philosophy forums in London. Though I haven't been attending, you'll be pleased to know that I have been reading the book myself, and have just finished it. Though I found the logic section totally bamboozling, I really enjoyed most of the concepts that were brought up in the book - especially regarding morality and ethics. ”

Anya on 05/10/2011: “Just wanted to write a quick note to say thank you for giving me the opportunity to present at tonight's forum. It was a really good and valuable experience for me, and I'm very thankful that you put in such a great effort to organize these forums. For a newcomer to London such as myself, they have been an excellent way to feel part of the 'community', meet some lovely people, and, of course, learn more about philosophy.”

Pekin on 04/10/2011: “I have enjoyed so much listening Anya introducing "Chapter 15 -Politics and Sex" in Jenny Teichman's book. It was exceedingly good. Discussions were brief but very enjoyable. I thank everyone and particularly to Anya taking her responsibility very seriously, doing a lot of preparation and putting together such a delightful introduction that we all have benefited tremendously. Well done Anya, ten out of ten.”
