Writing for Pleasure 1
THE GROUP IS TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED
This Group meets on First Mondays at 2pm in Community House, East Parade.
What does a single word, such as ‘water’ make you think of - ice, steam, river, swimming, drink, or laundry, perhaps? A sentence may spark an idea for a story, or a picture postcard make you think of an event, a poem, or a person. These are some of the exercises we may look at over tea and biscuits at this writing group.
We all enjoy writing, but are none of us are experts.
Coming together gives each of us a chance to practise, to try new approaches and styles, to hear others’ work, and perhaps even to aspire to publication at some time in the future! Poetry, prose, fact and fiction, all are welcome. Each session starts with reading out our efforts from the past month. Later, the topic for the next month is selected, and flushed with enthusiasm we depart to think, plan and write.
The Group Leader is Lorna Foyle, Tel: 866619 or email: Lorna Foyle for information.
