The following outings are open for booking at the meeting on 23rd September at Paringdon Sports & Social Club. If you are unable to attend and would like to book, please telephone Jill Moyes on 01279 423891 either before or after the meeting to book any remaining places.

Wednesday 23rd October.

The Painted Hall Greenwich. £20
The Hall re-opened this year after a £8.5 million, 2 year conservation project that has reversed years of decay revealing the spectacular colours and clarity of the paintings.
The Painted Hall, often called The Sistine Chapel of the UK, is the centre- piece of the Old Royal Naval College designed by Sir Christopher Wren in 1708. The artist Sir James Thornhill took 19 years to complete the paintings. Beneath the hall, The King William Undercroft now houses the new cafe, shop and the Victorian Skittle Alley.
There will be free time in Greenwich when you could visit the Cutty Sark, the Fan Museum or stroll around the market. Home before dark.

Friday 29th November

Burghley Christmas Fair £20
The Fair is held in the Elizabethan surroundings of the Chestnut Courtyard and Brewhouse. Festively decorated chalets, heated marquees and a Fine Food Market. The house is not open. We will be calling into La Hogue Farm Shop and Cafe on the return journey.
