The choir has started a new term from September 9. Why not come along on and join us. It is a condition, however, that you must be a Member of the Harlow U3A.
When: every Monday afternoon from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
Venue: Harlow Rugby Club, Howards Way, Harlow, CM20 3FD.
It’s fun, it’s life-affirming and it’s good for you!
It’s singing - long recognised as an uplifting and pleasurable experience for people of all ages.
If you fancy trying out your voice for size, why not join the Harlow U3A Choir? This friendly and welcoming group of 60-odd singers meets at 2pm every Monday afternoon in term time at the Harlow Rugby Club premises in Howard Way.
Led by our enthusiastic and encouraging musical director, Róisín Quinn, we have developed a wide-ranging repertoire taking in everything from traditional UK folk songs, show songs and popular “standards”, to African chants, gospel songs and even the occasional choral classic.
We aim to give two concerts a year: the traditional Christmas performance for the U3A membership, which features both carols and popular seasonal songs, and a summer charity concert. Over the years we have raised thousands of pounds for good causes in Harlow and the surrounding area.
Don’t worry that your voice “isn’t good enough”. We are a truly mixed-ability choir and all voices of all abilities are welcome - we are particularly keen to recruit more men. Once you start exercising those vocal muscles, you will find your voice and your confidence really improve.
Exercising the vocal cords can be a truly enjoyable experience, so why not come along and join us?
