The mentor for this group and bookings secretary is Bill Holland - telephone 01379 854938. We meet on Tuesday mornings at Methodist Church/ URC 10.00.a.m London Road, Harleston. At last count there were 18 in the group. Bill has extra instruments for people to try out. £2 subs covers Hall hire and tea and biscuits.
Ukulele is the official easiest instrument for an Adult to learn...Fun with a capital F. Keeps your brain/body coordination in top shape!!! We count our practice a success if everyone leaves with a smile!!!
We have played annually at the Harleston and Waveney Festival for the past five years, as well as care homes, local clubs and charity events. We have a song list that includes a wide range including children's, Hawaiian, popular and seasonal. We have raised hundreds of pounds for local good causes.
This year we are booked for the Festival for the 6th year running on Tuesday the 20th August at King Georges Hall at 3 pm. We are busy preparing some new songs, older favourites and some airship songs for the Centenary at Pennoyer's of the R34 atlantic crossing on Saturday the 13th July, this event went very well and the organisers are inviting us back later in the year.
