The Singing Group is a chance to get together and enjoy singing, aimed primarily at those who like to sing but may feel they can’t – although we are more than happy for choir members to join us too! It’s now well established on the 3rd Monday of each month at 2pm, meeting at William Lench Court (next door to Quinborne Community Centre and Library on Ridgacre Road). We usually have around 12 people and there’s plenty of room for more.
Lilian is our ‘music director’ and leads us with great enthusiasm to sing a wide variety of songs sometimes resulting in our surprising ourselves, and Lilian, with how good a sound we produce. At our December meeting we invite the residents of The Lench’s to listen to us and join in with a selection of Christmas songs, carols, and other songs learnt throughout the year which everyone seems to enjoy.
We aim to keep our Singing Group friendly and open to all members of the U3A. You don’t need to be able to read music. So, if you would like to try us, do get in touch, or just turn up at 2pm on the 3rd Monday of the month at The Lench’s. All are welcome.
