PHOTOGRAPHY FIELD TRIPS GROUP
GROUP CO-ORDINATOR – T.B.A. Mike Rees has announced he will stand down at the end of July.
Each month the Group meets at a different venue to go for a walk (usually between 2 and 4 miles long) to enjoy our locality. We take our cameras (compact, bridge or SLR - the choice is yours!) and try to make the best of the conditions that the weather brings. Camera expertise is not a requirement of the Group - just take pleasure in the surroundings and maybe try to find a way of looking at it that differs from the others. The walks and visits usually end at a local hostelry for lunch.
The walks take place on the 2nd Monday of every month at 10.30am. Group members are kept informed of the venues and meeting point via email and the walk is also announced at the U3A monthly meeting.
Two weeks after our walk (on the 4th Monday of the month at 2.30pm) we meet at the home of either Mike Rees or Maggie Swainsbury to share and review our photographs. This gives us a chance to see how others saw the same subject and maybe gives us ideas which we can use for our own photography. We also have the opportunity to talk about camera skills that might be useful on our next walk. Numbers are limited for this meeting, but if the need arises we will consider making alternative arrangements so that we can accommodate more people.
All Group members are asked to inform Mike by email or 'phone by the Sunday before the outing if they will be joining the walk and any last minute cancellations by 9.30am on the morning of the walk.
