Halesworth & District

Real Ale and Local Pubs

WHEN Normally First Tuesday each month, approx 12:00 - 2:30 depending on local transport, but
MEETINGS SUSPENDED DURING WINTER AND COVID LOCKDOWN. WE HOPE TO RESUME IN THE SPRING

WHERE Various venues - local pubs and sometimes breweries

AIMS To learn more about local beer and pub culture

ACTIVITIES Visit a different pub each month using public transport. Record the range of beers and compile tasting notes. We prefer to buy beer in jugs and share in half-pint glasses so that we can sample a range of beers. If possible, we try to compile information on history, ownership and general impressions of the pubs visited. Occasionally visit local breweries. Reports on previous visits are in the link on the right.

CHARGES Approx £10 per session for beers. Food optional at own cost. Depending on venue, there are often transport costs and occasionally charges for a brewery tour.

MEMBERSHIP of the group is now closed as we have more members than can be taken in the Halesworth Community Bus, which we increasingly use. Anyone interested in joining us in the future, please contact the group coordinator to be put on a waiting list and you may be invited to join us when travel numbers are not restricted (e.g. when using scheduled public transport or walking to the venus).
