CROCUS IN THE TOWN PARK

The Town Park was created by Halesworth UDC when Donald Newby was Chiarman in 1970-71, from land donated by Lady Rugby. It is a community space close to the town centre, which recently received a Green Flag award, and is bordered by Saxons Way and the New Reach and bisected by the River Blyth. The park is a popular location for music and other events and has a skateboard park, a basketball court and play areas upgraded through the efforts of GAPPA. The Hooker Trail and The Malt Trail pass through the park. Various paths run through the park including Sustrans National Route 1, which gives access to the old navigation canal, part of the old Halesworth to Southwold railway line, the Millennium Green, The Folly and the Town Centre
