READING

Reading Group 1

Our reading group meets in each other’s homes to discuss the chosen book of the month. There are usually from 6 - 9 members present. We encourage members to provide a review of each book and mark it out of 10 so that even if they are unable to attend a specific meeting their reviews can contribute to our discussion. At our January meeting we hold a lunch and all bring ideas for future reading so we are able to plan for the whole year. The group enables us to discover authors and different genres - from classics to modern, historical, science fiction, crime, books of letters and translations etc.

Recently we contributed to the Greater Manchester U3A Cottonopolis research by each selecting relevant books and sharing our findings for others. A review of each meeting is sent by email to members with details of the book and venue for our next meeting.
