MAHJONG

MAH-JONG

Some of the members of the Mah-Jong group are pictured at their Christmas lunch in Hale. The group does fluctuate in size but is usually somewhere around 20 strong. We usually have four or five tables playing at various levels of proficiency! Beginners are very welcome as are more experienced players - we have a good mix of abilities and help each other along.

As we get more proficient, so the socialising increases. Many of us were complete beginners when we started however, with time and patience on the part of our tutors, most of us can now enjoy a game and a bit of banter as well. We don't take any of it too seriously - we prefer to have a bit of fun and enjoy the company of others who are fascinated by the rituals of this ancient Chinese game.
