Memories
DAY: | Fourth Monday of each month |
TIME: | 2.30pm |
VENUE: | The Grenadier Public House, High Street, Hailsham BN27 1AS |
So often we wonder what older family members were like, what kind of lives they led, and wish we had asked more questions or shown more interest.
The objective of this group is to encourage members to record bits of their personal histories for children/grandchildren or other family members.
Short pieces are written about memorable events or even less notable ones - all of them will reveal the character of the writer. Topics are suggested, but any subject other than the very personal can be chosen.
Recent suggestions have been 'My first job' and 'Memories of music.'
At meetings members read out what they have written and the group discusses what they have heard. It is so interesting to hear about other people's memories, and there is often quite a lot of laughter.
We meet in a member's home, and would be pleased to see new faces
