Countryside Studies
Leader and location - Please see your membership card for details
The aim of this Group is to visit a variety of countryside sites, mainly nature reserves, to find and see special landscapes and wildlife habitats and their characteristic fauna and flora in due season.
The first year's programme includes a spectacular haymeadow, an ancient woodland in high summer, a collection of dry-stone walling styles at the National Stone Centre, some local nature reserves and Slimbridge at its wildfowl peak in January.
On most occasions a morning walk is followed by a pub or cafe lunch, for longer journeys the timing will be different.
