Venue Swimming Pool Car Park Stone Street Hadleigh
I coordinate the walking group. We meet the 2nd Friday of the month at the Stonehouse Road carpark.
We leave promptly at 9.30a.m. Sometimes we walk from here so staying around Hadleigh using local
footpaths. We also go further afield, when we car share from Hadleigh or some people choose to go
direct to start. The walks are about 5 miles and we usually have a pub lunch at the end. We have a
good number of walkers but always happy to have more.
Past walks have included:
From the Cock Inn at Polstead on a 5 mile undulating walk through woods copses and field edges around the Polstead area. On the high ground, giving great views across open countryside. As always refreshments at the Cock Inn afterwards.
A walk from Corncraft at Monks Eleigh. The walk, enjoyed by 14 of us, took us in countryside through Monks Eleigh Tye onto Kettlebaston before returning through field and track to Corncraft for refreshments
A walk from the Swan at Westerfield with 11 of us on the walk over to Tuddenham, across to Witnesham and back down Green Lane. Once again the weather, as always, was in our favour and underfoot completely dry. The walk eventually returned to the Swan for refreshments.
The group celebrated the first ever National u3a day in June - see picture right.
