Hadleigh Castle

French

Group Leader : Hazel Bailey The group is full at present.
The French group started in 2010. We meet on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. currently there are 8 members in the group. This is an interesting group of people who enjoy French and all have a different level of ability.

During the meetings everyone speaks in French about something that has happened recently in their lives. Some members need to prepare this in advance while the rest are able to speak ad lib.

We translate texts or articles and often through these are enlightened to some French culture, history or way of life. We often enjoy singing French songs and also French learning games which are fun.

Freddie, having worked in France for many years led our group and helped us all to revive our school French and we are very grateful to him but now has decided to move to other things.

Last year a new member to the U3A joined our group who is French (a retired school teacher) having taught for 30 years. This is a real bonus to our group as she is able to help at all standards.

By the end of the meeting the French flows more easily.
