We are pleased to announce that Gu3a has obtained permission to practice our Tai Chi sessions in the Gisborough Priory Grounds throughout the summer of 2024.

Our activity is weather permitting.

We will be in the Priory grounds on Thursdays 10-11am, from 6th June until 12th September.

Start back at St Nicholas Parish Hall on 17th September through to 17th December. Tuesdays 3-4pm

The fee for the session in the Priory is 50p; payable on attendance.

We look forward to practicing Tai Chi in the beautiful grounds of the Priory. Those who have joined us in previous years will know how their practice experience has been enhanced by the beautiful environment at the Priory.

Any Gu3a member who would like to join us in the Priory is welcome. A reasonable level of fitness is required. If you are in contact with any Guisborough U3a Tai Chi Group members who do not have email and would like to join us please let them know.

To help members decide if Tai Chi is suitable for them, they should consider that it is a physical exercise and the sessions involve bending, twisting, stretching, and balancing. It is a standing exercise and space restrictions at home limit us to taking 2 steps in each direction. If someone already practises a physical activity such as Pilates, Yoga, dance or are a member of one of the Walking Groups, they should be good to go.

Prior to lockdown we had never heard of Zoom let alone used it. That is probably the case for most of our Zoom group. We can provide support for anyone who wants to give it a try.

Any Gu3a member who would like to join the Tai Chi Zoom group should contact Dorothy and John via the Gu3a link on the website. Please note we would like to talk with you on the telephone.

There is no waiting list for the Zoom sessions.
