French Conversation for Beginners
Speaking French is fun and challenging and it opens up a whole new world of opportunities whether you are on holiday in France, passing through or planning on spending a longer time there.
The U3A French Conversation Groups will help you to put into practice the bits you have learnt in lessons and to gain confidence when you are buying cheese in the market, dinner in a restaurant or visiting some interesting site.
Believe me, that cheese tastes better when it is the one you really wanted and have perhaps negotiated a special price for! Or the dish on the menu doesn’t take you by surprise when it comes.
The Beginners’ Group
The Beginners’ Group meets on Wednesday afternoons, generally at the Farmhouse Hotel, when we each have an opportunity to talk about something that interests us. On occasions a guest speaker comes and talks, in French, about their particular interest in France, usually based on holiday experiences or being brought up there and also answering questions from the group.
Plans for the future include an evening playing Petanque, under instruction in French, of course; a visit to Hauteville House and other places of interest.
